Must-visit places for beach lovers

Ilfracombe has a number of small, mainly rocky beaches including Wildersmouth on the main seafront, Larkstone near the harbour, Rapparee near Hillsborough, Hele Bay and The Tunnels beaches.

It has its own harbour and quay, seafront gardens, parks and amusements including crazy golf, plus many beautiful walks around Capstone Hill and over National Trust land on Hillsborough and the Torrs. It also has its own golf club, pitch and putt course, public swimming pool, bowls club, tennis courts and model boat club.

There are many restaurants, cafés, tearooms, pubs and clubs throughout the town offering a varied choice of cuisines, ranging from traditional English food, fish and chips, and Devonshire cream teas to European, Asian, and more. From a Sunday Roast to a pizza, there is something for everyone.

Ilfracombe has a thriving entertainment scene with many local bands and a high-quality theatre group which stages a variety of classic, comedy and musical productions throughout the year. The Landmark Theatre and Pavilion is a modern entertainment complex with a range of live performance and films. Usually, there is a Victorian-themed show that ties in with Ilfracombe Victorian Celebration where the audience also dresses in Victorian costumes.
